Any deadline for registering your RHD?

    Just wondering,

have my GTST sitting here no time lately with work to get the headlights fitted etc...

my concern is, is there a deadline like 90 days i have to have this car registered or anything like that?

or can it sit and chill for however long?

    thanks

I had 30 days after initial inspection to get it compliant. If thats the kind of deadline you speak of.

My understanding is that you can take as long as you want. The whole idea of "registering" the car, or going through the inspection is so that you are actually ABLE to insure the car and drive it on the street. If you had no interest in ever taking the car onto the road, then you wouldn't have to bother with any of that would you? IE you would just take it to the track on a trailer and drive it there. Then trailer it back.

So as far as I understand, they don't care if you don't register the vehicle, as long as when it's not registered, that it never goes on the road. When you do register it, you get a TOP to go to the shop to have it inspected. Very simple.

If anyone can confirm this that would be great. But this is my undertstanding. Im 99% sure on this, but perhaps someone could confirm.

What do you mean? If you sell the car it needs to get a new inspection? When you sell the car, the only thing that changes hands is money and ownership (title).

If you pass your inspection the first time, it isn't necessary to get another inspection when you buy or sell the car. The only time you may have to get another inspection is if a police officer decides to give you a "Vehicle Inspection".

Other than that, selling the vehicle is just like any other domestic vehicle.

unless you sell out of province then you need to get an oop done before you can register and insure it... however

you can get temp insurance so you can drive it to or from your inspoection place

    you get temp registration

i do not see any reason why you would get temp insurance
at any time the car even sitting should have fire and theft.
