what companies in alberta actually offer comprehensive coverage for our cars? it seems like most places dont want to deal with it, and a few places that said they would 'call me back' never seem to do it.

I have all three of my cars(two skylines) with full coverage or have had at one point or another.
one skyline is just on fire/theft deal right now.

My broker has me through Dominion of Canada Insurance, with Liability and Comprehensive.
This was just asked recently in the Western Area section.
Been away for a while and now my account is weird
Information regarding my broker is in this post:

Edit: I see you are in Edmonton...we do have an Edmonton Branch as well. See our website: www.landy.ca for the main number.
Also, GTR-Dad, Nordic is a facility insurance company (basically by law someone has to insure you, so if it doesn't work out anywhere else, they put you with facility)...if you can find another company to go with you will probably find you have better rates.
My motorcycle is through Nordic, as it's a sport bike and when I first insured it I had no insurance on my record (just secondary driver with my parents). No one wanted to insure me (I was an 18, maybe 19 year old male with no history, and a crotch rocket...I don't blame them) so they put me through Nordic.
Which reminds me, I should look into getting that changed...

thanks for the help guys, i will give co-operators and landy a call and compare them to AMA. capital insurance along with alpine and a bunch of the other companies that usually go through ING direct never called me back like they said they would
apparently AVIVA is a bit less for PLPD compared to AMA and a bunch of other companies they listed despite having 1 accident when i checked a quote through landy. I just sent them an email, but will be calling them shortly about their comprehensive coverage regarding a skyline. thanks for the recommendation guys![]()
after exhausting all my options, morgex finally came through for me when everybody said they will 'call me back with a quote'
Full coverage or nothing lol. Unless you don't mind losing out if you crash your car.
No build thread.

I went with Landy and they simply will not insure my car for more than liability. My rates are pretty high too. I'll be switching whenever I get a chance
in alberta, they bend over those that are under 25, and im assuming a vast majority of skyline drivers are under 25 as well. i wouldnt pay 3k a year for just collision on top of another 2k for liability and comprehensive for an 8k car, it just doesnt make sense.
a perfect example was a toyota yaris that i was looking at buying. its roughly 11k to buy it, but insurance on it would be 5k a year.
dont get me wrong, id hate to lose any car in the event im at fault, but that amount for insurance just doesnt make sense. when im 25, the rates for most car on full coverage would be roughly $1200 per year on just about any car. $1200 a year for any newer car or car with decent value is chump change in comparison to the car. for now, ill stick with liability only because its a steal compared to collision.
