    Trouble

Well I dont know whats up but. One of our customers just came from getting a plate for thier Kie truck honda JDM thing . I am wraping it for them and they had to fight to get a plate. because it is RHD and acording to the paperwork they had there as of Jan 09 ALL RHD vehicles will be banned from road use. Government vehicles are exempt. They told him that they can no longer even issue a plate because it is now les then 6 months away from the ban. They had ordered a cusom plate but had to go with a standard plate so they could get it in under the wire.
I called one of our customers we do signs for A1 licence and they confermed this for me as well.

Can any one else look into this.

They are going away from 25 year and going with banning completly.

Found this on ICBC's site... Might bring some relief to BC owners:

Looks like if you have it registered already then your in the clear... just don't crash it.

No No No this is not pertaining to the 25year change. This is a direct ban on ALL RHD.

Nothing is coming from TC - you're in Alberta, and this will be coming from AIT - Ken Robinson.

I dunno I fished around today for an hour or so on both transport canada and icbc and that was the best I could find besides all the regular crap on the 40% increase crash likelyhood.

You'd think that if they were gonna have problems with re-issueing plates in BC that ICBC would be the first to have it all over their news, let alone in the RHD FAQ...

I dunno I hope I've got it right for all of our sakes.

Alberta is fast becoming the worst place, and the aforementioned name is the problem there - he seems to have a strong personal problem with RHD.

If I lived in Alberta, I would start making this my MLA's problem RIGHT NOW.

Ill go in and talk to Bev tomorow. I have to atempt to re rego my GTR. I wasnt planing on driving it this year but I will get all the paperwork to back up what they told Dave @ OK tire today.

Im not trying to stir the pot here. But when you hear it from a really good cusomer who just came from licensing a shop truck. THen its backed up over the phone with the agency. It get a bit convincing.

So I just spent the morning at the registry. Found out more the rest of the story. As of july 1 you cannot register Mini cabover Kie truck. and For Jan 09 all existing trucks on the road will be taken off the road. They next on AMV list is a RHD Van but Bev couldnt tell me which one. They informed her yesterday that they ar activly working on a way to ban all RHD from Alberta roads and that skylines ar high on the priority list to ban.

Now she showed me the documents for the ban on the little trucks and when she toll me it was for that only at this time I was so relieved i didnt even think to get a copy. The truck thing is official.

The rest of the info she shared with me because she is a riped about it as all of us. She spent 2 hours yesterday getting to the botom of this.

She advised me to do not let my rego run out before you renew because that is when they will get us.
