screw it ill post them here..
1. G2 on highway yes or no?
2. theoretical scenario, if im not on the insurance policy as a secondary driver, can i borrow my moms minivan for the day, taking her license, registration and insurance along with my drivers license, is this enough to drive temporarly for one day??
3. if i go drinking with friends ( im the designated driver 0% BAC) and the owner of the car is inside fully insured registered etc.. can i drive?
g2 is authorized on the hwy, the only stipulation is 0% alcohol. everything else is open as much as a g holder. i believe the technicality in terms of driving another persons car is with your own insurance policy for yourself and the other person. therefore you personally need to be on the other persons insurance ie parent, friend etc. finally, proximity means little to the police in terms of driving. no matter who is in the car you are considered the lone offender. as long as you are insured in your parents name or on their vehicles you are fine. there is no way to predict. but merely carrying her license around just proves you might know her but does not legally link you to that particular vehicle.

so driving my parents car isnt enough proof that im legally connected to them?? so for instance if i went to a gas station 2 min down the street, and a cop pulls me over and im not on the policy for the minivan but i have my moms documents. what can the cop do?
mmm failure to provide authentic insurance. to be honest i forget if they are able to connect the dots on whether you are on the policy or not. realistically you should probably be ok with proof of insurance, valid drivers license, all necessary docs and up to date plates and stickers. get approved as a secondary on the policy just to be sure. its not really that much more a month.

what about being a DD for my friends?? im not on their insurance policy, can i still drive them back home? im guessing no ? :S
for that one i know its a grey area because either the person who's car your driving needs insurance for other drivers which is an extra, or you need special extra insurance to drive others vehicles. if anything should happen (God forbid) it would be an unpleasant situation because i have heard instances where the owner of the vehicle is held liable and also that the driver has as well. ultimately its a bit of a gamble, but we have all done it haha.
