    First Time Importing to Alberta

    Hey guys,

Alright, now i'm sure this has been asked 100 times, but i just want to make sure that i have this whole process clear in my head.

    Car: 1990 Skyline GTR
    Shipping VIA: RoRo
    Landing Port: Vancouver
    Shipping Date: Feb 23 2009
    Landing Date: UNSURE

So from my understanding, here is what happens as soon as the RoRo boat lands.
    1. Get the car released under my name.
    2. Get someone to go there and get the car released, on a two truck, to another shipping company to come to my city.
    3. Insurance and everything

What i am confused about is the whole release and customs procedure, i am unsure on what i will have to do to get it released. Will i have to physically be there, or can i send one of my friends that live in Vancouver to do it if they have all the paper work.

    Help is greatly appreciated guys

    MUNDA -
If the car is in your name - there are only two people who are technically able to release it. 1 You, or, 2 a Customs Broker working on your behalf. There are many people here experienced with importing. However, if you're intersted in having someone clear it for you, let me know, we are a Customs Broker and can handle everything and deliver it to your door.

My advice,, dont use A&A for brokering they suck teh big one..

i would just fly out here give yourlse a couple days and do it yourself.

i dont know who gsrobins is. but i would jsut use ABC for brokering..
then i can help you with the moving ofyour car, and can even store it if you want to pick it up down here yourself..

Alright, so there would be no way to get someone to work under your behalf, other than a customs broker. Such as a cousin or a friend? Is there any possibility to give them permission?
