whats legal and whats not - ONTARIO

Not sure if i posted this in the right section im sorry if i didnt !!

I'm basicly wondering whats legal and whats not legal to do with a car to drive it on the street , and were can i go to get this information , Last thing i want to do is build my car and relize i can't drive it on the street cause of what has been done , yes i can get people to make it pas safty and all that , thats no problem but i don't want any hassle down the road by MTO or anything or losing my car cause of it ,

Like having a full roll cage is legal right?
You dont not need any interior just seats . seat belts . and a dash board with gauges correct? there's no law saying you have to have carpet and door panals and etc is there?

Any links or anything would help alot of if i have to go to MTO and ask them in person or get a list ?
cause i know lowering you're car is Illegal cause it upsets the safty of the car cause its lower but everyone does it

I wanted to get a roll cage but apparently in QC it's illegal. It turns your car into a "weapon". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

i was under the impression that just about any modification was illegal, depending on the officers discretion.

Like he said, It really is up to the officer. We don't have strictly followed rules here, like the states, but be prepared for a few tickets...

i think a roll cage is illegal becuase of the blocking of vision, my friend got pulled over and thats what the cop told him.

and in alberta any exhaust with over 3 " tip is illegal i beleve.

Not to mention the exhaust tips on some of the bug turbo diesels. I was told by a cop that I could get a ticket because of how large my exhaust tip is. Luckily it is not loud so I do not attract atention.

Actually... I cant seem to find it right now but in the "law book" it states in alberta it's illegal to have anything bigger then Stock exhaust. It's not to shoot flames.. and it cant be loud.
Ill find that tomorrow morning. it's bed time for me right now

It doesn't say tip, it says outlet.

Cops are basically free to interpret the law as they see fit, but basically it means they can hand anyone with a catback a $115 ticket
