muffler wider than stock.

so i just kinda asked a cop tonight when he was trying to pin some mysterious big backfires on a friend driving down a road (which he was lol). then he made a comment about giving illegal exhaust tickets/widened outlet, but they were pretty chill so i thought i would find out what is an illegal exhaust in alberta?

he told me anything altered from factory, which i knew.

i then asked what was stock for my car, he made a hole around a 1" in diameter, anything bigger= illegal.

i then said that my stock exhaust is no 1" outlet it is closer to 2.5" seeing a stock exhaust already that was my guess.

i then asked him how he would be able to prove that it was wider than stock since these cars were only produced overseas, but he said he can tell.

he also thought my friends exhaust was 8" lol

so he didnt really seem to want to answer my question so i wonder, do they really have any proof of what the stock tip size is on a skyline?

They can probably find it on the internet with a bit of research. They usually pay people to do this before a court hearing.

If you ever have to go to court, your best bet is to bring specs for the Nismo exhaust, which is basically the manufacturer's A/M exhaust. I think it's around 3".
