not having a "right hand drive vehicle" sticker. i know we're supposed to, however someone told me since our front corners protrude from the body we can get by without having one?

anyways, funny little story about this. i leave work and 3 minutes later i pull up behind a police car, he merges into a different lane so he can drive beside me, then slowed down, i instantly knew i was getting pulled over. after driving through a set of lights he puts on his siren and lights and asks me if i knew why i had been pulled over.
i told him no, i was doing the limit, did nothing wrong. he then told me i didnt have a sticker (thought he ment my renewal sticker so i freaked for a second) then told me he meant the RHD Sticker.

i literally laughed in his face (not on purpose) and asked if he was joking, he said the reason is so people dont get freaked out and call the cops asking them if its legal or not.. what does a sticker have to do with preventing that? absolutely nothing.

then i asked him where i could get one, how big it had to be, where it had to be placed, and how long i had to get one. his answer was:

"i dont know"

to each of my questions. how can you enforce law if you dont even know it. stupid cop. he was nice enough not to give me a ticket, but dont waste my time if you cant even explain to me what i need to do to prevent future ticketing.

in all honesty i think the sticker deal is complete ********. anyone else get pulled over for similar reasons? or have ignorant cop stories? haha

I got pulled over monday and he was giving me a ticket for no RHD sticker.

ME: You cant do that

COP:Why not?

ME:There is no where in the books that says you need one unless you dont have working indicators.

COP: Oh? okay well I guess you would know more about that then me.

And in the end I did not end up getting a ticket at all. Also This is kind a related but is a cop allowed to put his lights on when your on privet property? I was pulling in to a plaza and right when I parked he put his lights on and went behind me. He then called 2 more cruisers. Anybody know if he can do that?

you only need a RHD sticker if you DON'T have turn signals. This is to let the other drivers on the road know which side of the car your gonna be making hand signals out of when you turn. Its in the Ontario H.T.A.

yes... because he witness'd you driveing on public roads... if say you had been inside a mall and then come outside later to find a cop waiting then he would not have grounds since he did not witness you drive on public roads

there is anuother thread about this rhd sticker thing and in there is a copy from the lawbook stating like brooklinsfinest said "you only need a RHD sticker if you DON'T have turn signals. lhere is copy print it out & keep in your car ...saves all the hassle ....

“RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLE”.

this is my thought...not that i disagree with what you guys are saying.

BUT what im THINKING is, they want that sticker on there in the event that a turn signal dies...cause they know if you blow a signal youre not going to stop and put the sticker on.

i think the whole sticker thing is a complete joke regardless. you know how many people here (in alberta) don't even bother to use their fricken signal even if it's working?

well sitcker stays off mine lol ...just like the old school cars that dont have seatbelts in them (if thay didnt come made like that then you dont need to put'em in)..same idea no skyline was made with sticker.so im just not adding it .thats just my thoughts
...but what outher ppl do there own car is ok cause it there own car. & if i light gose out shouldnt the cop just give warning like a good officer would (sir did you know your blinker light is out you should get it fixed) & not be a hard azz and give ticket wasting court time knowing it will get dropped just so he can feel special ?
i dont have a problem with police just some say the dumbest things.
