1000hp at crank according to Cobb. Not bad for a stock engine.

Also congrats to Cobb on their win / fastest lap at Superlap.

They said they blow the first engine by blowing a rod, does anyone know why? Cause I don't think this new motor is stock they said they rebuilt it. Either way its incredible but I'm wondering the limit of the stock motor.

They said they reved engine to max it can rev to. In doing that your increasing inertial load on bottomend which snaps the conrod or conrod bolts and puts a hole in block. Reving 1000rpm more can be roughly 3.5 tonne of inertial load, so you can see that reving engine will eventually snap the conrod or break conrod bolt. I think they were finding limit's of the turbo's they fitted, so tried to rev engine to make engine suck more air in (like a F1 engine does).

Nismo know this and is why they keep the stock rev limiters on their demo cars like Ztune, etc when using stock I beam conrods.

Even H beam conrods will snap, but takes a little bit more load to do this (slightly stronger), for example -

Should see how far you can rev a Hayabusa engine before conrod lets go.

    Both engines were stock.

2nd engine they inspected, changed the bearings, replaced oilpan that was damaged in the crashed R35GTR they got it from, etc.

Nissan test's the R35GTR engines on engine dyno to see which engines pass, fail. So they only use the engines that pass in the R35GTR.

I wanna punch whoever added that music to the video. It's terrible. However, from what I heard of the car, it sounds great!
