    New camera pictures!

Well I just bought myself a new camera, Canon rebel t1i with the standard 18-55mm lens.I really have alot to learn so if any of you have some tips let me know.I'm really not sure of all the settings, when I should use what.I've also heard that the standard lense isnt that great , so I would like to know which lense would be best for shooting cars.

    Sorry for the dirty car!
Let me know what you think give me some tips.
My car keeps on stealing my money .

go try the same pics but, put the knob in the Av position, and set it at the lowest, see how much more detail you get

T2i is a nice camera, seeing more and more people grab ahold of these and do wonderful things with them, your off to a nice start as well.
A kit lens is generally regarded as a lower quality lens, but dont give up on it before you have really used it. I've had my D80 for 2 1/2 years and still use my kit 18-55 every once and a while.
As for tips just search around different photography and car forums (im sure there is a good canon forum out there as well) and just look and learn. Another good site to keep an eye on is SpeedHunters, last month? they had a "photography month" where their main photographers when through different photos and explained how and why they shot that particular scene.

Good luck with your new T2i, hope to see some new photos soon.

    Nice pictures DJ.

How is the T1i with 18-55mm? Would you recommend it or spend a bit more on the T2i and for lense how is the range? Was looking at the EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS when I actually buy it but the price is setting me off.

I have t1i as well with the kit lens, I find the focal length on the kit lens too short for most things
Except family stuff around the house and would really like the 70-300.
Having said that i have taken more than a few great(in my mind) shots with the kit lens

Would love to try shooting some cars though, if any body in the lower mainland has a spot and car
In mind pm me maybe we can work something out, no fee.

Those shots from the op are great I really need to buy a respectable tripod etc....
