Well I was invited out to the shop that Ian Fournier works at for a photoshoot with speedhunters, and since I was out I decided to snap some photos of my own and talk with the Drift Safari guys.
Ian's Formula D car that everyone knows and loves is going under the knife for a heart transplant. His RB25det that he had previously decided to eat its self while at the last round of FD at Irwindale CA.
His new motor is a Nissan Titan VK56DE with a Mind Blowers custom supercharge (currently being fabbed up). The EST. numbers on this set up should be about 500hp @5000rpm and 600tq @3000rpm
Mat Rodger's R32 Skyline GTST isnt quite as well known as Ian's but there is also something special under the hood of this car. After drifting for a while with this rb20det he decided to go a route not many Skyline owners would go.
Under the hood is a 2jzgte (gt35r) making 380hp on a safe tune. Can't wait to see him out more this year!
And finally a Toyota.... with a nissan motor. Trent Stromkins has a AE86 hatch with an SR20DET making 339hp. Such a small car and that kinda power makes this Corolla rip apart tires on the track!
