After making it’s Super Taikyu debut and track debuts in 2010, Nismo has finally put the finishing touches on the production model Nissan Nismo GT-R RC race car. Coinciding with Tokyo Auto Salon 2011, the car is now officially available for customers to buy both in and outside Japan.

Last time I spoke with the organizer of this RC program, he mentioned that Nissan would hold the cars for the owners and have them ready for the various set track events. Much like Ferrari does with the FXX.

I gather this is this the race version of N1 GTR, but called RC now?

I know Nismo make race version's of N1 GTR for race customers. One of my friends has a ex N1 R33 GTR racecar and has the handles for rolling up windows, rollcage (welding on rollcage is impressive in real life), etc.

derk: I was thinking the exact same! Would it not cost a whole lot more to build a car of this caliber? Seems like Nismo puts thousands in to it just to loss it all?

Serious? That alone would not make me buy one... Brb paying 250k for a car an not being able to have it. It's a flippin nissan, not a Ferrari.
