The Beginning: MNP R33 GTR V-Spec

    Hi people,
I am new to these forums but I hope to stick around for a while and learn from you guys! Anyway, I wanted to share my latest car, and hear your thoughts!

A little background on my car history, my first car was a 98 Ford Escort ZX2 which I worked on a little (and admittedly was a little riced out), and now I have a 2010 Cobalt SS, which I don't really want to touch because of the warranty..Anyway, I had wanted a Skyline before I had the Cobalt, but yet another timing belt failure prompted me to get rid of the ZX2 and get something fast! A year has passed since then, and I've decided to take the plunge.

It had to be an R33, so after a while, I got this 95 R33 GT-R V-Spec..Midnight Purple of course..It is on the boat as we speak..

    Exterior shots:

Is this an aftermarket bumper? or is it just a custom cutout for the oil cooler?

Interior does need some work..ie. new shift and e-brake boots, get rid of the paint or whatever is flaking off the dash..
Mods I can see are exhaust, aftermarket radiator, oil cooler, shocks, boost controller, turbo timer, steering wheel..i am told it has HIDs as well..

    Thoughts/Comments/Recommendations?

Thanks! Silver was one of my top choices as well, but I couldn't resist MNP! I got it through Terra2 in Vancouver, its a lot closer for me..How about you?

Midnight purple looks really good! I got mine through Zen Autoworks in Calgary, they have been great so far.

That car is from brave auto actually... Probably would of been thousands cheaper if you personally bought it from him. Looks sick though!

Thanks for the comments guys! I've heard of people having good experiences with Zen as well..How does importing through Zen work if you're on the East Coast? Would you have to take care of compliance yourself?

Cooke, can you please clarify? It was purchased by auction. Brave could have very well been the exporter. I did know that Terra2 was higher in price when it came to importers. I did ask for a cost breakdown, which showed over 2k in service fees for a hypothetical 1 mil yen car($1200 for export agent and $1100 for Terra2 ). Compared to smaller importation outfits, this service fee might be higher, but the service Ive had so far is very good, and I don't have time to deal with the Canadian side of things.

Having said all that, going that route and buying from an exporter directly would definitely save you some cash and make you the smarter buyer!
