From what I understand Touge is toge in Japanese or means "pass" (mountain pass). It's essentially driving through the tight, steep winding mountain roads.
The name Touge got caught up with drifting. Drifting came from Touge driving, as they started to go sideways while doing Touge driving hence drifting was born. Its true, that is what touge means. If anyone ever wants to watch a cool documentary, pick up "Chasing the Touge" Very much a cool movie to see. It does in fact cover the basis of what Touge driving is and how it isnt really drifting. But still all very cool vids. I LOVE Option haha, its always so eccentric and over the top!
