  • Any F1 fans out there?

Man, by the sound of it, Ferrari will (again) be the team to beat:
Barrichello crushes the Mugello track record
Two seconds a lap faster, with the new F2004
Rubens Barrichello had a memorable day at the Mugello circuit today, crushing the previous lap record.

For his last day at the Italian circuit, the Brazilian completed 74 laps (including 9 on the short version of the track), with an impressive fastest time of 1'18"704. The previous lap record was held by Michael Schumacher in 1'20"943 since June 2002.

The Scuderia's testing programme will resume tomorrow at the Fiorano circuit, this time with Michael Schumacher.
..wow, 2 seconds is huge in racing. This is very sobering, especially for a Williams fan like me.

From testing it looks like BAR (maybe), Renault (favoured upset) and Williams are going to be very competitive. Ferrari is just up there enjoying the benchmark set 2 years ago.

I normally go every year to the MTL race with Nismo and 13th-A, but this year I'm taking a break. Should be a great season though. Cannot wait until March! I hope the Downunder gives us a thrilling race.

Yeah, F1 fan, kinda bummed out that Villeneuve isn't running anymore. I still say he's one of the best, just hasn't had any luck with his cars.

Should be an interesting Ferrari season again, they have a few years in advance to any other cars, sucks but true.

I think Villeneuve has a lot of talent, he just happened to waste it on a new team with a new car and new engine. Had he stayed with Williams he would probably be a lot closer to Schumacher in the points standings year in and out.

As for the Ferrari's....DAMN! 2 seconds is a long time. And if they're breaking track records in practice, I don't even want to see what happens in the actual race.

As always, I will be watching Monaco + Montreal. On TV

We have an F1 Pool at work that one of my co-worker starts every year. Anyone interested in doing on this board? If so I'll post the rules.

Sure I'll join! I used to do the pool every year on F1.com before they got bought out by the Ecclestone empire and went corporate. I never did win that free trip to Monaco...

Tix showed up in the mail last week. Needless to say I was running around the house like a kid on a sugar rush!

Kimi is having some major problems with the new McLaren... aparently the damn thing will only run for a few laps and then blows up! I hope they get it all sorted out for the new year.

Anyhoo... s'gonna suck without you there this year JZ. I'll be sure to take lots of pics of the beer girls, and the pit queens, the millions of beautiful cars, and all the other fun stuff you're gonna miss out on

Haven't really been following it lately - for example I don't even know, is Toyota still in it?
