Even though some may not care on this board but I thought I would let people know that I have just got off the phone with Japan and have made my agreement to buy a Skyline GTS-T. Downpayment of 50%, they will hold it till May then I pay the other 50% and they ship it out to me. They also will make a writen promisse that is will be in good running order and such. The cars cost itself...2400USD and to ship it to BC 900USD. I mentioned that there may be a large groupe of Canadian buyers looking for cars soon too. They have informed me that if I am happy with the car and its condition that they have the means to provide Skylines for around the same price to other buyers. Even though this is realy just a personal matter I thought you guys may be interested since the cost is alot cheaper then places like Import Concern. The only diffrence is you have to safty the car and E test is yourself but thats no biggy.

Ya I am doing it by wire transfer I am buying from that Batfa company based in Japan. I called thier number to see if it was a real company and it was fun talking to Japnese people that could actualy speak some..I say some english lol. I am not having doubts about the company but I am interested to find out if you do a wire transfer and the car did not show up what do you do in that case? Also congrats on wanting a GTR I would love one myself but the cost is a bit out of a 19 year olds range plus I dont even want to guess what its like to upkeep that monster of a engine.

Keep your wire transfer receipt and see what happens. If you get shafted i know of a pretty good international law lawyer who can probably write them a tidy little letter and get them shaking in their boots. There are laws to protect consumers out there...

Well $3300US is hardly anything to write home about, especially since you're going to be paying a whole lot more on top of that once the car arrives in Canada. Taxes, importation fees, inspection fees, etc. IC includes all of this in their prices, no hidden costs.

P.S. I'm not trying to be an ass, just trying to keep you informed. You obviously seem concerned about being ripped off so I'm sure you've looked into all of this already.
P.P.S. Congrats on the purchase....I may be in the market for a GTS-T myself now.

thanks for you concern first off and I do know of the costs (see my post of what you need to know before buying a skyline) so I know of the 6.1% duty 8% tax and then getting it saftied adn etested, the 100 dollars for AC blah blah blah lol. I am guessing when its all said and done it should cost about 5000-5500 dollars. It is being shipped to BC then I will be getting it shipped to here, dose anyone know of average costs for shipping a car?
