cant shift

hey guys last nite my car randomly stoped going into gear 1sr 5th reverse

its gettin stuck if i wiggle it a little its going into gear sometimes its shifting fine sometimes its not shifting at all ne ideas?

I get that sometimes in reverse and only one or twice in 1st. It will go into the slot but not far enough forward to be in the gear. The trick that I use, especially for reverse is let off the clutch just a little while pushing the stick into the desired gear and it should then pop in. I know it doesn't really diagnose your problem, but it'll help you drive while you find a remedy.

rev match when your shifting or blip the throttle whenever you want to shift. that should help you a lot.

My friends ae86 and his dads brand new sti does pretty much the same thing for reverse. But all the cars mentions are cars that you drive to the Sh*t, so.... we can only pray the tranny's are fine.

bleed your clutch master and slave. I can gurantee there is air in your lines

I usually put it into 1st then reverse (with the clutch in) it seems to make it a smooth engagement into reverse.

+1 , i always roll out of the driveway and engage first then reverse, i find it sticks or is stubborn otherwise.

my 1st gear usually stops then slides in with a little push. as for reverse, it depends on where the teeth are in the gears on the tranny, sometimes i guess they dont line up properly. let the cluch out like an inch and it will slide in no problem.

i tryed lettingthe clutch out and it makes huge grinding sound and doesnt help lol kinda scary ahah ill try the bleeding of the clutch today

bled the clutch changed tranny fliud ther was silver shavings in it but none of the helped still gettin stuck and jammed in gears and still have trouble going in and out of gears some help please

Sanj, it could be a myriad of things:

1. Low fluid level, which can cause grinding in gears
2. Broken/damaged input or output shaft bearing(s)
3. Clutch fork pivot is bent or broken, but then it would not lwet you shift into any gear
4. Blown synchro, but that would only cause grinding and difficulty in shifting, not a complete blockage

I am sure there are others, but maybe we need to ask you the right questions to find out exactly what is happening.

BTW, how is the R33 turbo working out for you? I hope you are happy with it.
