  • Garrett GT2060-5 Fitment

    Hey everyone,

Ok so I recently picked up a Gt2860R-5 Turbo for a very reasonable price, for the rb20. Now I have 2 hurdles to challenge: 1) GT2860R-5 GTR upgrade and the Gt2860RS-5 Disco Potato (direct swap) carry the exact same specs, however slightly different Compressor and Turbine Maps. Will this turbo perform similar to the RS? 2) The GT2860R-5 has a special "compact" 5 bolt output flange and for the life of me cant find. Anyone have any ideas of where I can pic one of these up or have any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Justin

The disco potato will not fit. Im sure the exhaust flange is the inccorect size. double check. Also I run the HKS GT2540. It makes About 320PS, or so they say it will. But the turbo for me so far is a good alternative.

I have a spare like new .80AR GT2860RS standard exhaust housing. If you need, you can have it for $80 (I bought it for $130 + shipping).

Thanks for the heads up, I think with a .80AR I will encounter a little more lag than desired though. I think I know here I can get the flange, so I'll order it and weld a custom dump pipe. Anyone else done this or have any suggestions? Also with the oil pressure the Rb makes can anyone comment on the use of a oil restrictor?
