    Foot technique?

Well I was wondering what technique you are going to use while on track.

I sat in a GTR and damn the footwell is cramped(I had small to medium sized shoes) and my running shoe while sitting on the foot rest rubbed next to the clucth..

I wear size 12, I already have bought some puma speed cat (smallest shoe I know) that fit like a glove I hope it will help the feeling.

I haven't been able to practice heel toeing on my cars.. cause well .. it's an auto cavy... (even I rev match when I downshift the auto tranny... with left foot braking)

    anyways

any help or info are welcome

I heel-toe with my Z. It helps that the brake pedal is rather stiff in its initial press, so I can apply a decent brake pressure and use it to kick the throttle properly.

    So... yeah... heel-toe

I take a 10.5 size shoe... and I can heel-toe/rev match just fine. I don't find it too cramped.

I don't "heel-toe" as much as just roll my foot onto the gas.
My feet are wide enough that I can put the left part of my food on the brake, and blip the throttle with the right part of my foot.

    Practice makes perfect.

    haha nice

    Yeah for sure.

I'll have to try that one when I'll have my car ... still so close yet so far

Heel Toeing is just the name of the technique. CanadianGTR your method is of rolling the foot over is the proper way of doing it. For those who are having a hard time picturing this it is very simple. Roll your ankle slightly while on the brake and the side/Heel of your foot will hit the Gas pedal. This is a very effective move. If you have small feet you will have to twist your foot and knee so that the toes are on the pedal and the heel is on the gas. A more difficult move. I am 6'2 with size 11.5 feet I have never had a problem in any car with heel toeing. If you are tall with small feet well sorry it is going to be hard because your legs could hit the wheel etc. But you have bigger problems .

Well I have praticed quite a bit this summer

It all depends on how my foot is sitting on the brake pedal...

sometimes I find that using the side of my foot instead of my heel works best.

Also, when I drive with skater style shoes... it becomes really dangerous has I'm too used to drive with my tiny puma speed cat.

I'd recommend the smallest shoes you can find with the thinest sole in order to exploit the maximum potential of the pedals. Esp. if you have big feet!!

I feel handicaped when I drive the Skyline with big shoes :S

No doubt, one time i forgot to change my shoes afterwork and it was a nightmare driving home.

It was a nice surprise when you wanted to brake but gassed at the same time too

Souldn't really be problem unless you have size 15's yikes
But 12.5 and under should be fine. Like I was saying the side of your foot is the best way most can't use the heel nor do you really want to. It is too hard to flex your knee that way.
