Touring GT Questions...

Okay, I have a few questions regarding Touring GT (maybe someone can help)

First, when you apply for your regional B, do they require a driver abstract?
Secondly, do you ONLY need your regional B to compete? Do you need any experience with a regional C (lapping license basically) first? Or do they consider the course for the regional B experience enough?

spoke to a co-worker who used to have a datsun race car.
He said the drivers abstract isn't nessesary .
He also said you need some kind of racing course to aquire the B liscence and a track chief would have to see your driving inorder to qualify for a C .

usually you need to complete a school to get it as well. there is a way around it if you have enough experience/prove yourself but I would suggest the schools

There are some good schools around to accuire your Class B. Bridgestrone Racing School, MCO, etc.. MCO is the best bang for your buck, i believe its 500 and you use your own car. The Bridgestone one i believe is around 5k or so, could be a little high.

Hey man nice to talk to you again its been a while, are you prepping a car for next season seriously? If you are talk to me on msn for sure.

A) You do NOT need to have your C first you can get your B+C together after you complete a good driving school (I went to MCO)

You do not need any experience or an abstract. you have your licence and thats enough to compete as a novice. You will be watched for you first 3 races and as long as you don't do anything ridiculous (i.e. smash into other poeple) you will be good to go and can upgrade to your regional A.

To give you an idea of what we'll be playing with next season:

In GT:

My S14 of course, hopefully will be in the 27's weighing about 2300lb with driver with about 300whp and lots of downforce

996 Grand-Am cup prepared car that was doing 29's and 30's this season but will be prepping the car some more for next season

Nick Majors plans to do a few events with his Viper Comp coupe, these cars do 22's in Speed World Challenge on RA1's.

In Super Touring Mike Boekdrukker is thinking of bringing out his super well prepped E30 that does 27's on slicks, with some more prep could do 28's on RA1s im sure

The Honda Canada sponsored Civic with a K24 that turns 32s' 33's

etc. Should be an awesome season. There is also big talk about running at the Grand Prix of Toronto.

We'll also be at Calabogie for the first time
