so a car alarm IS needed in order to run this system right? Or else nothing would alert the system of a forced entry I suppose

My question for you is. How easy is it to install? Im very interested in this as ive already had a car stolen from me. Also seeing as its sms functional do you need to pay any kind of activation to have your number for the car?

...thats amazing...im kinda scurred that a friend would steal my phone and start shutting down my car with me driving it just to piss me off lol. so who does make this? i really want one once my car is back together.
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.
A car alarm is required to notify you if a break-in has occured, BUT if you park at home everynight, you can set a GEO-FENCE. a BOX of GPS co-ordinates that if your car leaves that zone, it will notify you.
Fairly Easy. looks harder than it is.
Easier than a simple Parking light Alarm system install.
You need cellular service and a SIM card, pay as you go works the best. plus a company that doesnt need to recharge your account every month. there are a few that allow yearly balance top-up. not monthly.
having the phone number to your car's SIM card doesnt help him. you have to text message a password to your car on every command you wish to find out. and the password is 6 numbers long. 1:1,000,000 chances to guess it.
wow, i really like that geo-fence idea. question about that though, if i take my car on vacation (which i frequently do) can i change the coordinates i want it to think it should be in so i can use it while at a relative's house?

okay, one last annoying questions post lol.
i switch phones alot, is it possible to change the number that activates/disables the system?
and how does the power supply work? when i store my car during the winter id want to use the coordinate restrictions instead of the alarm since the car's battery would be out. how much power does it need? could i put in a second smaller battery running the system?
