OK, just watched the live feed. First time I ever stayed up late to catch the live debut of a car. Very exciting indeed!

My overall impression is going to have to be lukewarm.

I have seen the specs, the pics released, and the development of the car up to this point and I have to say when I saw the GTR on that turntable, and you see how it appears dynamically, I have to say its really lacking in the looks dept. The rear haunches are too slab-sided. The front fenders appear too over styled, and the face looks like a 350Z but more brutish. I see why Nissan wants to have a corporate 'look' in their products, but the GTR has never tried to be a cousin of the Z line. I know the GTR never tried to appear sexy in a sports car way. Its always been a sledgehammer of a tool (I do like how Ghosn basically throws the gauntlet down to the automotive world with his "this car is ready anytime, anyplace, anywhere!") but man, couldn't they do something more to make it look less brickish? It really makes the R32 look lithe and lean.

I will have to see how it appears in person for a final say. I would also be curious as to how tuners will improve on the looks once they get their hands on it. Oh man, a Top Secret or HKS massaged GTR would be awesome.

I am also bummed over the mention of a June/2008 release date in NA.

Rumor has it the US will get it before we do, and we should expect a 2009 release in Canada.
Don't quote me on that, it's just what I've heard.
