  • Need some opinion on how to do my interior

As the title states I'm going into to my interior and there is way to many options to choose from... I therefore enlist the help of GTRC. I don't have back seats and the way it looks now is crappy. I just laid some carpet down and it looks good from far, but far from good. So getting an interior done...

For those that have their back seats out its going into get material laced from the back window down to where the carpet starts again (soon to be new carpet). So if anyone has any pictures of some sick looking R32 backs post em up! The tin look is to street for me and the carpet I have down looks like someone who sucks at interiors (me) did it lol. So trying to clean the inside up a bit... heres my thoughts

My initial choice was a fabric like this
    .
Its a faux leather with a carbon look to it. Now I was originally thinking I would do that top to bottom, but worried it might look to plain so I was thinking I would lace in some Sparco blue to match my harnesses and NOS bottle? Possibly some aviator grey , basically anything to offset the entire back being black or to plain.

Trying to stay away from anything to "offsetting" (whites, bright colours etc...) to my car which is very plain coloured. Greys, blacks, grey blues...

Also thinking of getting seats recovered to tie in the whole car... Thoughts, suggestions, criticism... All is welcome and a picture is worth 1000 words

well it's obvious the number once choice would be astro truf!

But in all seriousness, I would stick with one colour to the whole back. If i'm imagining what you are saying right, i think it would look tacky, kind of like a flag.

In my opinion keep it a nice subtle colour and if your are looking for some sort of accent, i would suggest sparco blue piping around all the edges...and maybe have something embroidered into the middle before you put it down (in sparco blue), like the skyline emblem or the logo of your fav company...would give it a nice touch i think.

Looking to do the whole interior now. Can I use one fabric for everything and then highlight is like Tony siad (sick idea BTW) or will it all look to "similar"? Current plans now is to cover everything in that carbon material. So everything but the dash is being redone and where that blue fabricy suede-esque stuff is now, that will be replaced with a smililar fabric in sparco blue. Blue stitching in seats and blue highlight where appropriate. Too much of one fabric? Any more suggestions?

Have you thought about fiberglass for the back? Some soft subtle curves as it flows top to bottom; or build in some speaker/sub ports into it? I like the fabric you posted and think it would look amazing to do the seats in with a 3" border of black, accented with stitching (your choice in colour)

lol can't tell if you guys are making fun or not

As for the fiberglass, I don't wanna add weight. I know its negligible but I just dont feel like adding to my car.

                      Anyways plan right now...

Carbon out the back and blue suede where the existing "fabric" parts are.
Recover bride seats in carbon as well and blue suede up the middle (where the bride fabric is), R&TN (my company) stitched into head rests and blue accent stitching.

If anyone is good at imagining if this "flows" or looks decent chime in lol. I just can't get over it not matching the existing vinyl and dash? am i nutty or is this fairly normal?
If I decide that carbon is gay, gonna get baller status and get some ultra subtle black on black gucci print lol

black on black gucci print would be the lamest thing ever, besides stitching a bunch of louis vulton bags together and making that the back of your car! :P

I agree, Im doing my interior right now aswell. New black velvet headboard liner, and matching sunvisors. I painted the rear view mirror, sunvisor plastic trim, interior lights trim all black. For the door and rear panel placards Im going with a black, dark grey and lighter grey weave pattern to tie in the oem grey seats and carpet to the new black headboard. Should all go well with my sparco black suede steering wheel, and sparco black leather ebrake handle.
                              Regards,
                              Ken.
