  • Do I need a new Clutch?

    Hi,
Recently I bled and adjusted my clutch because the clutch was engaging near the floor. Now my MC rod is into the MC as far that there isnt any threads left on the inside of the rod to pedal bracket. Clutch now engages at about 50% and the pedal sweep feels normal.
So my question is, Am I do for a Clutch? Since I have no more adjustment left I would assume that my Clutch is at the end of its Lifespan. Another indication is I believe my throwout bearing is wearing out(In Nuetral: little noisy with clutch out, No noise when clutch in).
I believe the Clutch has been previously replaced by Ninjas because there is a couple scratches in the tranny tunnel. Also I have S.S. braided Clutch Line.

Or maybe my Clutch Master and/or Slave Cylinder is pooched.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I suggest a few things before you go out and buy a new clutch.

Does it slip under wot at all?
    Is your clutch fork bent?
Does the pivot ball still have the head?
Is your clutch pedal bracket broken?
Is you clutch master cylinder pushing off the firewall?

It would be extremely hard for you to wear the parts to do with the clutch so much that you have not enough through to disengage the pressure plate. Actually just impossible because you would notice things going wrong long before that.

As a clutch wears down on a skyline the friction point will actually get higher, but not noticeably.

on top of what mcfly said pull the boot back a little on the slave cylinder, if fluid leaks out your slave cylinder is bypassing. it is common for it to slip only under WOT and hard to get in gear, you will also have a spongy pedal that feels like it needs to be bled. and sooner or later your engagement point ill be at the floor.

i would look at your master cylinder/slave.

Thanks, I dont get any slippage or spongy pedal but my pedal engagement is a little unpredictable and gears are more crunchy.
As soon as it dries outside up Im going to check out the slave cylinder. The more I think about it I think its my Master or Slave Cylinder. Im going to pick up a Master Cylinder rebuild kit from Nissan and do it for fun. And the same or replacement for the Slave.
Let you's know how it turns out.
