Interest in LoJack Vehicle Tracking/Recovery?

Hey guys and girls, after what happened to Rich's mint Z32, it made me realize how shitty and easy it is for any of our cars to get jacked, no matter how good the alarm is, or what security our buildings have. So I wanted to guage interest in a group special on vehicle tracking systems. It's something I'd definately like to do for my car!

Rich lucked out big time with Holly & Dustin spotting his Z32 and the police catching the guys! But it got me thinking about what can we do to help ensure we get our cars back when they go missing. I actually saw a CBC special on a Canadian company called Boomerang, which got bought by LoJack. Boomerang operates LoJack vehicle recovery in Canada.

This is how LoJack works...the radio transmitter is installed on your car. With the base model, you call them when the car is stolen, and they will go and track it by the radio signal. The upgraded model has a key FOB that will automatically report the car stolen if it is moved without the FOB in the car. Apparently they have a 90% recovery rate for stolen cars, often within hours of the theft!

The advantage of the LoJack system is that it's radio transmitter works in underground parkades and shipping containers whereas GPS-based tracking systems often don't. The down side is that yearly monitoring is about $140-180.

The costs of the LoJacks are about 599-799 installed (including 1st year monitoring)...but of course Gaelen and I are looking into group deals!!!

Just wanted to guage who would be interested! I'll start us off! This isn't a commitment to buy anything, I just want to know who wants more info on what sort of group deal we can get.
