    Moving to Vancouver (few q's)

    Hey Everyone,

looked up some info, found some answers but not all of them.

First, and most important, are there any autoclub's in the area? I know there is brand and model specific but thats not what im after. Coming out of windsor area, theres a network of guys who are hardcore into auto performance, all meet up, sometimes theres races etc. Looking to know if theres any networks similar to this in the vancouver area? Its been a neat experience being involved in it all in windsor.

Second, how long does it take to get a Vehicle saftied, air care'd and insured? I will be in vancouver for 4 days in july, hoping thats enough time to get my corvette inspected, emissions tested, and saftied so i can get the BC plates onto it.

    Appreciate the help guys.

There's the UBC club. You don't have to attend UBC to join, and they do all the autox events in the lower mainland. http://ubcscc.com/

I dunno about getting a car safetied, but aircare usually takes about 20 or 30 minutes. You don't even need an appointment, just show up.

    I hope that helps
Looking for cheap parts? supguyex (Jon) is parting out his car. Good prices, good guy.

    1/2 day?
Every time I've been its an hour, max. No idea what could take 1/2 day.
Rolling through aircare takes no time all.
If the car isnt too crazy modifed you should be able to roll through everything in a day. If something needs done then you have 3 days to figure it out.
    Good luck

Canadian tire does provincial inspections for Canadian out of province cars. Make an appt for a day you're here. Pass that, and that's all you need to register and insure.

Aircare doesn't need to be done right away. You have a "one insurance term" leaniancy to pass when you register a car for the first time in BC. So insure for 1 year. Not 3 months otherwise you will have to do aircare in 3 months rather than next year.

UBCSCC.com is the club I am a part of. We do AutoX, track days etc. And always are looking for new members.

yes... I have a Miata. no... I'm not gay.
