    Timing belt service

Looking for a good reputable shop to do a timing belt service on my 1995 r33 gtr. I have all the parts for the service just wondering how much labour would it cost me ? I have phoned a couple of places everyones quoting close to 450$ labour. Can anyone suggest if thats a reasonable rate or not ...and if you can suggest a good shop to get it done too...please!

    Thanks

$450 is about right. If I were to do one for someone I wouldn't charge less than $350-$400 because it's a PIA to do. But that's because I'm a hobbiest, and have no legal credentials. So you can't exactly charge the same as a legit shop.

Do you have all the proper idlers and tensioners? How about the crank bolt? That's one most people don't think about, because it is technically a one time use bolt.

yes... I have a Miata. no... I'm not gay.

$450 is pretty fair. Falcon is also right about the crank bolt, definitely something overlooked. Also factor in the cost of coolant, not a lot but an extra cost. I'd definitely be up to do this on a weekend for like half the cost, but I understand you wanting a shop to do it.

I just ordered a timing belt kit of ebaY , came with a oem nissan timing belt, tensioner, idler and i ordered the N1 water pump as well. I didn't order the crank bolt but i will mention that to the shop wherever i end up taking it. Thanks for the advice.

I know people my say it's an overkill but since they are all located at the same place why not change your AC belt, Alternator Belt, and Power steering belt while your at it?

Hey guys, if you go to cannonball racing on sw marine drive in van you will pay the same but you get japanese mechanics that actually know these things like the back of their hands. Give them a call and tell them Paul with the R33 Gtr sent you and they will look after you.
