  • BNR32 Front Rotors Available From Nissan Canada

Did some research on this topic, here is what I found out. The Nissan Competition (USA) catalogue lists a Skyline GT-R rotor as an upgrade for the Z32. These rotors are for the early BNR32 (6/89 - 7/93) as part number 40206-05U02 (RF) and 40206-05U03 (LF). I checked through a Nissan dealer and these parts have been superceded to 40206-05U12 (RF) and 40206-05U13 (LF). The original spec. for the rotor size was 296mm. x 32mm. I do not know if the new ones are the same thickness but Nissan considers them to be the same. If you were to order a 40206-05U00 or 40206-05U02, you would receive a 40206-05U12.

The right and left side rotors are different part numbers because they are cross drilled to facilitate cooling. The drill pattern is curved forward and using the right hand rotor on the left side would make the curve rearward.

Now the surprise, Nissan Canada has these in stock. I have checked and they do not fit any Nissan or Infiniti cars that are sold here. If Nissan has them in stock it means that a dealer somewhere has been ordering them, so this has been done before. The cost on them is $95.55 CDN each. That's not to bad for a competition style rotor that is cross drilled.

.... Except the Z32, Vuk@Ams runs them on his car.

The early Z32 rotor is slightly thinner - 280mm. x 30mm. thick. The 4-pot OEM caliper is for a 30mm. rotor but you could probably use the GT-R rotor with this caliper if the spacing was correct.

With the new engine in he's been talking about going to the Brembo Gran Turismo kit. The brake fade is starting to get him...of course he drives and brakes hard....

Can someone check FAST for the non-crossdrilled / slotted rotors that fit the GTR? Seems like everyone I talk to has cracks in their drilled rotors. Mine are not cross drilled / slotted and they serve my purpose so I'd like to replace them.
