    Yes they do. You will never blow the tip off of these, you will frag your engine before these will give you trouble.

    It's funny that AutoLite makes a good ground level consumer product yet Fram makes the crapiest filters out there, they are both made by Honeywell. The Fram race filters are pretty good but are 4 times the money of a Wix filter for the same quality. Corperate sponsorship can suck sometimes, you have to promote a product that you know is a piece of sh*t.

      Anyone mention JIC vs. ISO in terms of length?

      I didn't bother to read the whole thread because it's packed full of, "what should i use???"..


      ISO (International Standards Organization) is an international organization which establishes standards for the production of automobiles and their parts. The ISO height for a spark plug from the seat to the top of the terminal nut is 50.5mm (1.98").

      JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) is a Japanese organization which establishes standards for the production of Japanese automobiles and their parts. The JIS height for a spark plug from the seat to the top of the terminal nut is 53mm (2.086").
      Basically, if you're running iridiums (BCPR(5,6,7)EIX-(8,11)), which 99% of us do when we first purchase our car, you're running a JIC plug. Typically all BCP and PFR plugs are JIC, meaning they're the proper length from the seat to the top terminal for OUR cars.

      When you switch to copper like most do for racing applications, you will notice that (besides the BCPR line) they're ISO.
      BKR7ES, BKR7E and etc, are ISO meaning the seat length to the top terminal is SHORTER.

      There is no reason to fret, however, and though it seems like it would affect performance, it does not. It's ~2.5mm difference, and our coils are more than appropriate to accomodate this size of a plug.

        The rb26 (and rb20) coils after years the coil springs get squished and if you use the ISO they might not touch properly. You can just take off the coil boot and elongate the coil spring.

        I run BCPR7ES just cause I got them at a good price. It was 2.30$ each BCPR7ES plug and I switch plugs every oil change, dyno, drag, and lapping event. I'm sure the racing coppers are better, but for the price the BCPR7ES work amazing (BKR's are usually around the same price).

          You can just take off the coil boot and elongate the coil spring.
          Good point! A lot of people should do this when they notice hesitation issues as well, as sometimes the small spring inside comes off its contact point through years of use, oxidation if water ever entered the boot, and harsh vibrations.

            Can i walk into Canadian tire and get a spark plug that will work in my engine

            RB25det
            Neo turbo
            intake
            exhaust
            FMIC
            splitfire coilpacks
            14 psi of boost.


            I don't want to have to order sparkplugs but i don't want to put shitty ones in my car

            I live in lethbridge, not a whole lot of places to get spark plugs

            Canadian tire, Napa, auto value,

            basic places like that

              i bought the BCPR6EIX-11 and everyone is saying that the iridiums the tip will blow i just put mine in a ran great with them put 100km on them just wondering if i should change them to coppers or leave them ??

                  well i just spent 40 bucks on plugs and some say they are fine some say they are bad anyone have issues with them if so what plug should i run on my 92 gts fmic turbo back exhaust intake and 1 bar of psi??

                    i bet some1 will say use one heat range cooler and gap to .8mm instead of the 1.1mm and use copper..i dont suggest using the STANDARD copper coz it wont last long...dont use champion plugs coz they seize on the head....so if it was my car i say use

                    ngk vpower jis bcpr7e or iso bkr7e both are .8mm gap and cooler.....does the gts use a stock heat range 6? if so 7 is cooler good for one bar boost

                    or some1 correct me

                    platinums niridiums are marketing and for ppl that dont want to replace plugs 2x a year or 3....but its proven for turbo cars like ours....plats irid are useless

                      NGK Vpower, both JIC and ISO versions (BCPR7E + BKR7E) are standard copper plugs..

                      Stock plugs are PFRA5-11, platinum. Alternative plug was the FR-5, Std copper.

                      Heat range for a stock GTST plug is a 5, 1 colder would then be 6 and so forth.

                      Copper plugs will last a season, but tolerances change more rapidly than iridiums due to their relatively low wear resistance.


                      Heat range of 6 is better for stock application. Runs cleaner and has no break ups on hot / high revving applications.
                      7 is good for a car that is running considerably more boost thus higher temps.
                      Plug gap should be .8, regardless of the stock being 1.1.

                        Do it next time. They'll be fine for a season depending on engine mods, but im assuming youre running stock right now so i wouldnt stress.

                              We know. But this has been discussed NUMEROUS TIMES. Avoid iridiums, for both reliability and price.

                              PFRA are basically BCPR E and BKR E but the S (std) version of these. Also, PFR's are platinum, also not GREAT for boosted applications..
