Can anyone tell me what this is? It's a road flare, thanks!

I think this is required to pass for the Japanese auto inspection. Mine GTS4 has just passed the inspection before it came and the flare has an expiry date till 2009.

mines got 2006.4 in BIG font, and then 2002.5 in smaller font underneith...does that have something to do with the expiry date? Cause i certainly can't read anything else on the thing! :P

I only looked at it when I first got my car. I will have to take alook again but I would think that one is manufactured date and the other is expiry date.

no mine light...was cool...just like a regular flare and worked fine...lit up and my friend and i played pass with it till it landed on his shirt and burnt a hole through it...

my car came with one
and lighting old flares isnt too big a deal. i lit ones from december 1964 that i found. lit fast as hell

it's basically a giant match.. nothing really dangerous about it. lol

My friend also lit mine while I was driving up hastings street. Thank god no authorities saw, he got a stern talking to after. But none the less it was cool and the thing worked perfectly.
