I have plans to start modding my 03 350 Z soon. It'll be a long and slow build with me doing as much of it as I can. I want to keep the car auto for various reasons. I plan to buy a used RE5R05A and having it rebuilt with a shift kit and whatever other upgrades that are available. Then swapping it out for mine. Then build a de motor up to hold a supercharger.
So my question is, is the RE5R05A in my 03 350z the same (as far as bolt-on swap) as every other RE5R05A out there? Like will 2015 Frontier RE5R05A work in mine? I understand I may need a flash/ecu swap, but will it bolt up and run with no fabrication? Is there any advantages to a different one? If the answer to all of this is no or not worth the trouble, I'm fine with using another one out of a 350z. I thinking more along the lines of something a lot younger then my 15yo transmission.
