^^^ It really all comes down to the driver. I've seen lots of cars get passed by slow cars on the track becasue they couldn't drive properly. Hell, at my first track day I was being kept up with by an Echo on r-comps, that was it. He was an amazing driver though, and it was funny to watch him lift a tire on hard corners. At the last track day I went to I destroyed an Evo X. I have intake exhaust and coilovers, that's it, he just sucked.

the rhd WRX's that are coming over are disgusting quick too. so much torque, kicked the **** out of me off the line, but it has such short gears.. 180kmph = near redline in 5th.

^^^ its true, they are quick little cars. Took GT mustangs, skylines, etc... with ease. Off a gross launch cause the clutch was slipping and I didn't wanta buy a new one.

In stock form the R32 RB20DET is nothing special, as it's been detuned for road use. But in race spec, like the GTS-R that's capable of around 280rwkw (440hp at engine) in stockish form with a boost up.
Look at this videoclip below at 5:41 to 6:22, where the Honda Civic holds it's ground in the corners, but becomes road block on the main straight for the Cosworth, Supra and RB20DET powered Skyline, etc -
Cosworth would be similar to a EVO, so the RB20DET powered Skyline can hold it's ground against a 4wd car and win, just like in the link above.
Outside Japan the Cosworth had more hp, like in the UK for example -
RESPONSE MONSTER
The most epic signature ever "epic".

if u still have that stock rb20 turbo...u are going to get walked all over.. not only will he jump u out of the hole but those evo 1-3s, there 1st , 2nd and 3rd is a DANGEROUS combo hes going to suck those 3 car lengths in ON THE LAUNCH ITSELF .....dont let these boys build your spirits u have a SLIGHT chance of sucking him in up top cuz of their gearing they run out of top end... but yea lol if hes saying hes stock but has 350+hp. u better order a gt35r or leave him ALOOOONE..ive owned a "stock" evo 3 and ran 7.4's all day in the 1/8, i should know

I'd take that bet.Originally posted by gregrego View Postlolololol
im talking mod for mod. a stock evo8 vs stock gtr, evo 8 will win (on a track) attessa doesn't hold a light to the evo's electronic center diff (google it, im not getting technical)
evo8 running 19 psi stock (peak), 16 at the end of the power band, but still produces roughly the same power numbers as a gtr. (3100lbs vs 3150lbs)
my GTR is pretty close to stock, ok I have a ported head and built motor but realistically it's not making more power than a stock one, my mods are very few and the car is a MONSTER. I've raced BPU evo's and I smash them, over a 1/4 by like 5+ carlengths.
Maybe on a road course it would be a different story since they do have 10 years of suspension design on the GTR, but the certainly don't have a horsepower advantage.
As far as the Evo1 VS R32 GTS goes...
well, my money is on the mitsubishi, at least from a dig, assuming both people actually know how to drive, and the evo owner is willing to do a 7000RPM clutch dump.
vs a GTS4, might be interesting..........
vs a GTi-R, I'd have my money on the pulsar. They're surprisingly fast and very light.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag

I have driven a new evo as I was planning to trade in one of my cars for it. The coolest thing is that you can build boost with the clutch in IE) no brake boosting. I scared the pants off the sales man when I dumped the clutch at a light...It will definatly be one of my picks for my next car. Right up there with a 2007 C6 or the saleen mustang. I Know I know rustangs are for 16 year olds. They are sooo cheap to mod though

The GTS-T is a fairly slow car, I know this is tough for some of you to hear who haven't owned another modded car...I own a 4dr gts-t and im not ashamed to say I know my car is slow..The turbo is the size of my fist and its powering this big car?
IMO spend the $500 that your going to fork over on a new shiney part...then spend another $3000 in other shiney parts....then you should challenge him to the $500 race heads up ;P
