Turn it in towards the driver a bit.....more 'Cockpit-ish' so you can see from the driver's seat better

          DING DING

good work JD74 yes it is allowing more gauges to be enclosed and not stick out of the dash compartment.

And yes, sortof Supra cockpit shaped. the left side of the gauge cluster trim will flow with the left side of the stereo trim. and the Void will be smoothed and filled, then entire dash re-wrapped in either another leather or suede.

also the new gauge area, will keep One vent pointed towards the driver. and above will house 4 gauges, in an OEM shaped feel. Factory gauge clusters will remain in same location, but left side of gauge cluster is where new gauges go, same with single A/C vent. not double like OEM for center.

There is definately a market out HERE....

If this dash doesn't sacrifice anything except for the center vent......I am all over it. If everything else still mounts/works, this will be decent.

I would be interested in one.

I actually reuse the center vent, and trim off one side. worked great, still fully functional, already accomplished that this afternoon.

                    I like.

Suede the dash. Less reflection is better and looks more racestyle, which matches the gauges. Unless this is showcar, then leather should be better. The image of dash in front windscreen is distracting when there's alot of sunlight with stock dash.

If all goes well, this is for the MWR34, but i did it on a spare dash, and not the dash in the car. Swap if worthy

wow this is awesome, i've been thinking about doing something similar, just with the lack of having a garage or a spare dash makes it tough. Please keep us posted, if you could make a mold that would be awesome. i feel my gauges are a bit exposed, this would give more of an oem look. if your looking for design cues, the NSX and Supra both have very good driver oriented dash/cockpit.

Toss in a tablet PC in the new space, like the samsung q1, and together with a datalogger, you've got yourself a mock R34 dash

looks like its going to be pretty sweet when its finished. Similar idea to the Supra, if it is tilted in towards the driver that is, then it creates more of a driver cockpit feel
