is ur car a daily driver?
no. its for pleasure use only.

they're strict on the approval - you need 10 yrs of driving experience, reasonably clean record, must have an insured DD, car must be used for pleasure use only (no commuting).

you can put the car under your dad's name. he's very likely to qualify.

the good side is, if you do qualify, you'll get cheapass insurance.

      Word on that!

I pay $299 a YEAR for my 17,500 appraised GTST.

Very good prices if you meet the criteria.

They have had people miss-using it tho (work use, etc), with these cars, to get the cheaper rate......hopefully they don't ruin it for us..

Did you get "the letter"? LOL

Yep, they did a name change around a month ago.

My car is insured with Dominion of Canada, who are willing to do full coverage on the GT-R.

Due to the hardening insurance market though, my rates are going up when I renew in June, so I'm going to get a quote with Aviva to see how they can do.

              holy geez!
299 per year is crazy,. i pay more then that a month.
any pics of your gts? 17500 is a very high appraisal for a gts in my mind.
ive know of nice clean gtr's, supra's, 7's, and z's that were appraised for less.

The secret to paying low insurance is "pleasure use only" If you have a regular DD and really only use your car after work/ weekends. You may as well go this route. I'm with ING....err Intact and i pay $108 for the YEAR. i'm 23, clean record. The car is actually insured under a classic car policy since it's old enough according to them. Check it out. Warning though. i'm limited to 5000km per year (they don't check), cant drive it to work, and had to have it appraised.

and you dont drive it to work, and stay under the 5000 a year?

Im in high school still and have put 3,500 kms on my car since the end of march, just driving to get food at lunch and driving to hockey and work 3-4 times a week.

I just got insurance on mine through the co-operators, I'm under facility though.

It was incredibly easy, no appraisal needed, they don't care about modifications, it's my daily driver, not a weekend car or anything.

I am 21, full G with one speeding ticket and I pay $289 a month on my GTR. It's more than I'm used to paying, but whatever... cheapest AND easiest quote around.

                      Check it out.

I drive my tacoma to work, which is only about 3km. Once i get home anywhere i'm going i take the GTR. Since i live in a smaller city the only way i rack up KM's is when i purposely go for a nice long drive out to a nice road or something. For me 5000km is pretty easy to stay under, i think i was at 4800 and some at the end of last summer. If you can stay within the guidelines you can pay ridiculously low insurance. I mean come on i pay $8.96 a month, haha
