My custom LP bracket (idea)

I coulden't find an R32 model so I did this with an R34 but it dosen't matter, same idea.
I'm going to be tracking my car as much as possible this year and a big concern for me is cooling. I want to keep the plate away from the intercooler air stream but putting it at the right side fender blocks cooling to the right side brake. So I was thinking about making a combo air funnel/plate bracket to direct the needed air to the brake. This would also add an agressive flair to the look of the front of the car with a Trial bumper that I want.

The whole bracket would be disconnectable outside the bumper and in a way so not to impede removal of the bumper.

Feedback is requested.

just get one of the folding plate brackets. folds completely out of the way.

thats a pretty good idea, Front plate looks alot better on the side!

everyone has their own opinion but how does the plate look good on the side. there is something about symmetry that looks better.

to address your plate concerns on the track. The best solution is to just take it off while at the track. It costs nothing and takes all of 2 minutes. Plus there's no better solution.

Just run no Front plate..

you will get very little volume of air passing through that setup you have due to the small cross sectional area between the funnel and licence plate.

your best bet is just to have a removable front plate that you can take off while on the track and bob's your uncle.

personally i'm a fan of the side plate look myself.

i have my plate mounted exactly like that and all it took was a $2 bracket from canadian tire.

Zipties are your friend. Have the plate wherever you want for the street, cut them off at the track. Or just take the plate off the bracket. If you need that much brake cooling on the street, you may need to revise your driving habits. jk!

Also note that OEM brake ducts basically do nothing. I wouldn't worry too much about blocking the airflow.

Ontario mandates a front plate

you get a nice ticket (and they DO go after you) for not displaying one. can't even be behind the windshield.. it has to be at the front of the car

I truly feel bad for you guys having to run a front plate.
It ruins the lines.
Although when I made my trip to BC from AB i got pulled over as soon as i hit golden and got the warning , to low to loud to fast on and on and on. The best part was when the officer informed me that the rcmp is very aware of those skylarks ....l o l..

i have seen people trim the borders off their plates to make them smaller, i don't know if its legal. Or get a spring loaded one so when you go fast it folds back to let air at your cooler.

Cutting or Folding your plate isnt allowed in BC..

also your required to have a Front plate..

however i never run one..

in my 9 years of driving no tickets..

and never had front plates..
