Looks sick man, such a bargain for $1200 bones.
For a Skyline that is high, they tend to have lower spring rates because of where the coilovers mount on the knuckle. If it was an A-arm suspension setup like a jzx110 or jza70, or a wishbone setup like civic`s then they tend to have a higher spring rate. If you want to change the spring rate on your gtr you can cut the mount points and moving them in, out or up on the knuckle, All make a difference in the leverage placed on the strut assemblyOriginally posted by falcon View Post10/12 is not bad at all. actually quite on the soft side for "JDM" coilovers.2009 Mercedes C63 AMG. wow, do you pay retail on everything?
and no, those arent function XS's either, they are just super oldschool zeal functions.
and falcon, just because you cant find them, dosnet mean they dont exist hahah.
OP, im not saying your suspension is crap, im just pointing out the fact that for a little more you could have bought a brand new set. when you originally said it cost you $1700 usd for the rebuild, $1200 cad a pretty good deal then for freshly rebuilt Zeal Functions with swift springs

A lot.
They are the main coil I am looking at for my FD. And the prices for them are all similar for all makes/models (cars).
So far I found them for $2100 USD. That's the cheapest. And it's not for lack of trying.

Zeal only makes one remote reservoir coil. And it's worth more than my left testical.
The X and XS have some of the BEST shock dyno results from any coilover system PERIOD.
If you want a quality coilover for less than Ohlins, moton, penske etc.. Zeals are the way to go.

and sorry, I would hardly call teins and cusco top of the range.Originally posted by Skym View PostFor that new price, wouldn't you expect remote fluid resouvoirs, EDFC, etc, as those Zeal/Endless coilovers are supposed to be close to top of the range HKS, Teins, Cusco, etc???
HKS is getting there but teins (unless you buy the uber baller $$$ ones) are just another basica bang for the buck coilover.

That's ok, it's just what I have read somewhere and was a bit curious about where they stack in the best to worst coilovers in Japan.Originally posted by falcon View Postand sorry, I would hardly call teins and cusco top of the range.
I think Bilstein are close to Ohlins and Bilsteins are alot cheaper than Zeal.Originally posted by falcon View PostIf you want a quality coilover for less than Ohlins, moton, penske etc.. Zeals are the way to go.
The R33GTR, R32GTR in this Super Lap have Ohlins and the EVO has custom Bilstein's -
Also as far as I know the Gibson R32GTR had Bilstein shocks and ran 61? seconds around the same racetrack.
That's why I fitted custom Bilsteins to my car and they feel similar to the Nismo/Ohlins setup on my mates GTR racecar. I can understand why Nissan fitted Bilsteins to the R35GTR and Nismo fitted Bilsteins on the R33 400R, SpecV R35GTR.
You can get Bilstein's from Bilstein Japan -

it depends on which kind of bilstein, but the BPS stuff is very expensive, ~ 250,000JPY ish + exporter fees and shipping, about the same as the Ohlins DFV, which is also super badass.Originally posted by Skym View PostThat's ok, it's just what I have read somewhere and was a bit curious about where they stack in the best to worst coilovers in Japan.

obviously, every company has a cheapo line that they sell, so you cant really compare a lower end cheap bilstein to a more expensive model of Ohlins, but i agree with falcon on this one, when comparing apples to apples, Zeal is alot cheaper than an Ohlins or Bilstein coilover in the same class.
