  • Nissan Skyline R31

I was wondering how to get an R31 into Canada. I know it is super easy cause they are less than 15 years old. But were they common in Japan. I can't see many of them going through the auctions since they aren't that popular (if they are popular at all) and there is no demand for them

I seen one for sale in the FS thread a while back

So can Importers get there hands on them and how much would they cost roughly. Cause i actually wouldn't mind owning one in the future

    Thanks

Pretty much any legal importer can get their hands on one. I know some guys in Tokyo that have theirs for sale. One guy has a GTS-R, the other two have standard 2000 Coupes.

I don't remember the engine codes that came in the 2000 Coupe, but I know the GTS-R has an RB20DET. I imagine it would be easy to swap in an RB26 for some real fun... :P

In Japan, they're getting more and more rare due to being crushed, or being sent out to countries like Australia or NZ - however you can still find 3 or 4 on busy days at the auction houses. Call up a local importer, or send me a PM, and they should be able to find one for you just as easy as finding an R32 or R33.

Here's one I got a pic of in Japan just awhile ago:

And here's an R30... or at least I think it is. O.o

They are fairly common and cheap.
Cheap more so because they are not the prettiest car and not a lot of people want a fj20 when they can have a rb.

There are always a handful going through uss each week.

Odly enough I pmed Adam@feast a few months ago, asking the same question. he told me "FOB rates from 200-275,000 JPY" for an RB20DET r31 in good condition.

EDIT: Yes that second pic is indeed an r30. The rs-turbo was a dr30 model

Well. I would definitely want the GTS-R.

That picture that you posted CDguy, the top one, is really nice. For some reason i really really like that one. I see a lot of the r32 in it. I don't want to say it. But i might like that r31 over an r32, looks wise anyway.

          275000 Yen=3200 dollars

That is a direct transfer, i don't know what the rates are, but that is really cheap.

@Wolfattak. Was that price landed, and inspected and all that jazz, or was that price just for the car alone

What does it all take on the r31 to make them street legal in Canada

          Thanks

its hard to find parts for the fj... but they are very strong from what i hear, i would rather have an fj than an sr20

One guy in Abby had one a while back. Might still have it, but I haven't seen it in ages.

I remember there was one in the FS section and I saw a landed example at a stealership.

I think there was a twincharged(!!!!) FJ motor on Ebay a while back..

I would love to see what a genuine Paul Newman R30 Skyline would go for these days.

                Victory is on the horizon..

I was literally thinking about how it might be neat to own an R31 over the R32. I looked inside the car and I changed my mind:

I wouldn't be able to get into my car every day and see that, compared to the newer cars or even the R32. Interior comfort is a big thing for me at least, and I'm sure other people here as well.

                      Car is from TCV here:

Ad is marked as R30...but I'd rather have the 30 over the 31, IMO the 31 is kind of the forgotten generation. FJ20+sedan=good times.

I was always a huge fan of the Blitz R31 with the URAS kit... Looks so sick IMO.

I have always wanted to see an R31 in person.
There has gotta be a few in Canada??

Ok looks like my information and opinion are irrelevant in this case
