  • Seat toss-up: Bride Vs Sparco?

I'm looking to replace my driver's seat in my GTR, but I've decided not to go with an R34 one, but look into the aftermarket. I have a few specific needs, though.
First, it must be comfortable for long periods of time - I spend serveral hours in my car everyday and it is driven 365, so I don't want a carbon/kevlar bucket that powderizes my spine.
Second, it must be able to tilt forward easily. My daughter's car seat is in the back, and I have to have access. Period.
Third, I'd like to have the seat hold me a bit tighter than the stock one, so that means deeper/more aggressive bolsters.

Based on those criteria, I've been able to narrow my choice down to 2 seats (as most aftermarket seats don't have a quick-tilt feature): the Sparco Torino2 and the Bride Euro2. Now between these seats, I know the Bride will hold tighter, and likely is built better, but I'm not stock on the fact that the bolsters are leather, and it costs 30% (!) more than the Sparco. The Sparco doesn't look as good, it isn't "JDM Tyte, yo" and I may be mistaken, but it looks like it was built for large American asses (no offense to any Americans, but I'm built like a skinny japanese guy). The biggest advantage is that it's much more affordable, and the quick-tilt feature seems well-designed.
Now, I'd like to see where the community stands on this; is the Bride worth the extra $350, or is the Sparco a decent quality seat? And has anyone ever sat in either of them? How do they fit? I know that's a subjective question, but does the Sparco fit wide? Is the Bride comfortable day-to-day?

    Thanks!

I would go for bride just because it looks better, built better and the most important one--> better resale value.

I say go for bride. just make sure its a real bride seat. Not sure what you mean by spine powderizing carbon kevlar bucket. I have a Vios3, in FRP mind you, and it the most comfortable seat i've been in. Getting in and out of it is a tad harder, but the overall comfort is superb. I've also used bride Brix and they hold quite well with a bit more space, but i find them less comfortable. I'm going to be running a slightly more economical Bride seat for my passenger, but I'm going to stick with something like the GIAS or Stradia series, the best of both worlds (bucket and reclinable)

I love Brides, they fit me very well, better that Recaros or Sparcos.
As C-Unit said, just make sure they are authentic, so stay away from eBay.

i'd go with the bride. The sparcos are comfy but if you're a skinny guy they're not too form fitting. My buddy has a pair of torinos in his MKIV supra and i move around in them quite a bit (size 31 waist) compared to my stock GTR seats (which i love)

Ultimately though, i would stick with R34 seat. They are better than most a/m seat for daily.

Really - Even the Brides? Does anyone have one in their car? Are they really that comfortable and well-built?

In terms of fit, I'm a big fan of the Brides myself.

PM me and I might be able to try and narrow that price gap for you

I've never found R34 seats for sale....

As for sparco, don't they come in pretty much everything now? (SRT4, Taurus, cobalt...)

Recaro SR's have been a long lasting favorite. One available in great shape if interested. Not looking for much.

My friend has a pair on his R34. I can tell you that, no aftermarket reclinable seat will have the OEM quality. Most of the A/M seat's adjustment will crap out in couple years. They also fade very fast if it is expose to the sunlight!! How often you see quality OEM seats fade in a year of use?? the bride will turn purple in couple months.

I have a Bride VIOIII like the one caliber767 on my FD. It is comfortable..etc but it is inconvienent for everyday, also the fabric rips easily. They are quality if it is only your weekend car. Just think about how much R&D nissan put into the seat compare to most a/m one..

Agreed, they are baller status. I haven't had anything rip or fade yet, so I cannot comment. If I had to start over again and get some seats, they'd be the east bear sigma's, which are R34 seats

                            Awesome seats
