Hmmm, I could have sworn there was a different light that came on with the E-brake. But either way it's flickers on and off while the car is running so I guess Ill check the fluid level. But now I'm wondering, is there a CEL on these cars? If so is there a way to read the codes, or do I have to buy a scanner specific for Nissans. This is one of the oldest cars I've owned in a while, I remember some older OBD1 cars would blink the CEL to tell you the codes, I wasn't sure if this car would do that.

Of what? I was just saying that I hope my aftermarket ECU has the diagnostic functions that the OEM did, not that it didn't. But here's some pics of the ECU anyway, but from what I've read the LED is on the back side of this.Originally posted by falcon View Postpost a pic

Now that I've posted pics of it, does anyone know if there is anyway to tune this ECU? I've done a little reading on Nistune and I like it, but I'll have to buy a stock computer to make it work right? Is there anything I can do to this one to change the fuel/timing map that's in it?

^^ For ease of use, if you have a local tuner of course... Nistune or a PFC are the way to go. Nistune for it's cost. PFC for it's plug and playability. I also like the fact that you can monitor temps and stuff with it. If you want all out performance, AEM is the way to go these days but the support is still lacking.
Your ECU looks like possibly a MINES ECU? That looks like the font they use on their cars. In which case, be careful which gasoline you use. And no, you can't change anything in it.

If it's a Mines ecu it's probably tuned for 100 octane. Mine is, and im driving around on the knock maps because of it until I can afford Nistune and a visit to the dyno.Originally posted by falcon View Post^^ For ease of use, if you have a local tuner of course... It says Blitz on it, did Mines make them for Blitz? Either way I agree, I want something I can have tuned. Unfortunately all the performance shops near me will only tune my car if I buy the AEM setup, and that's a lot of money IMO. I really like what I've red about Nistune, I think I'll do a little more searching and try to find anyone in the states who has experience with it, even if I have to go out of state or get a cheap flight for them to come to a local shop I'd still come out cheaper in the end Vs. the AEM.
