I don't know about that the rb20 is weak. If I had a gts I'd swap a sr20det, mostly just cause it takes mods so well and its cheaper in everyway. The rb25 is a good motor, lots of guys do good power on them. The rb26 is an amazing motor, when you look at JDM cars with crazy power then usually have an rb26 or a 2jz. The GTR is in no way laggy and even with a T04z it wouldn't be extremely laggy. RB26 are expensive as hell, the 2jz is cheaper and in that respect its better (plz don't bash that comment). The coolest thing about the GTR is you can modify the engine and add tons of power, but you don't have to upgrade the drivetrain (minus the clutch). The drivetrain will take anything you throw at it up until about 600whp, and even at that if you don't drag race your car is good for any power (theres guys on here running big numbers on stock transmissions and diffs).

I was thinking about a SR20 over the RB20 anyways.

I've been searching the internet, but I cant seem to find a good resource... Does anyone have a "one stop shop" type resource for R32 parts and upgrades? Or are there a couple websites, that together serve you for all your needs?

My main concern is putting the power to the ground. I dont care so much about making 500whp. If I could make 300-400 whp, with a potential for more later, and have a SOLID suspension setup, I'd be happy.

Check with the sponsors on this site they have PLENTY of parts for R32s and if u want the potential to build more power later go with the RB26 its suits your needs.

and/or any of the sponsors will hook you up for parts. Biggest issues is shipping time but if it's a project car who cares.

And yeah the RB26 with stock turbos is not laggy at all. Very quick car.
