  • Engine Vibration rb25

Ok so this is just annoying me, my clutch burned out completely last week.. it wouldn't move at all, so when I rev the engine the engine starts knocking or vibrating( I dont know..) at about 1200 RPM and it goes away as the rpm goes up and comes back at about 1000 -1200 RPM And stops at Idle. Whenever It goes at about 3000-4000 RPM the vibration comes back and never goes away, when the I touch the intercooler piping and the engine it feels like its just vibrating abnormally. Is this some transmission/ clutch related or some thing bad happened to my engine? oh and btw this noise was only after the burned clutch the engine was running perfect before that.
    Thanks

i think a bad harmonic balancer or thrust bearing can cause this, does it do it when your in nuetral also?

yeah i would change the harmonic balancer for starters. also check the engine mount for cracks.

could also be the clutch or flywheel is out of balance. Could be to much for the harmonic balancer to compensate

i would check fan clutch ass,ive seen it many times were the fan or fan clutch has given way and it causes a very bad vibration.prob the cheapest fix.i would convert to a twin fan (electric)hope that helps

he fried a clutch how can the front of the motor (fans or harmonic balancers) be causing issues, it has to be a clutch flywheel problem. Blowing it threw something off. Gotta work around the problem, end up sending the guy on a wild goose chase lol

ive seen many clutchs blow and there is one out of 1000 that will set something off like that ,and yes a fan can cause that freak chance it went when clutch went .i call that diagnosis check evry possible thing .he said he got a clutch put in i think so theres a problem fixed unless the person who installed the clutch did it improper.all im sayin is ideas to look at its always good to do a good check before you replace parts.lol

haha thats one on me never heard of that. I've seen new clutches that come off the assembly line out of balance, just a fluke once in a while. More common on the cheap ones.
