  • What CAMS?

Alright quick question firstly aimed towards the major differences between a RB25Head and a RB26 head.. are they interchangeable in the sense of drop in cams.. im looking at the Brian Crower cams at the moment just a drop in 264 but they only list it for the rb26.. so my question is will rb26 cams work in a rb25 head? what are the major differences between the two heads and or what is everyone using for a drop in 264?

    cheers

RB26 is solid cam, RB25 is hydraulic, unless it's the NEO R34 RB25DET head with solid cams. Also port size, valve size, bolt pattern on exhaust side for RB26 head, ITB on intake side for RB26 head are the other differences.

Tomei list the specs of stock cams in link below and can see the solid, hydraulic difference between the RB25, RB26 heads -

As far as I know HKS sell 264 duration cams for RB25DET.

Tomei sell drop in cams for R33 RB25DET and can upgrade head to solid lifter for more aggressive solid cams -

But what size turbo, head work, runner diameter, length, etc, as that will determine what you'll run as far as cams go. Have you flow tested head???

This company downunder can make custom cams to any spec you want. Or they can suggest at a cost specs of cams that would suit your setup, as long as you give them the details of engine, etc that's shown in link below -

A engine builder should be able to supply them those details if they don't have them. They have quite a few tested profiles.
