  • DIY Carbon Fibre Wrapping

    Hey,

so i am looking at doing some carbon fibre wrapping on my interior and was wondering if anyone had any experience doing so. I'm just not sure on what i need in terms of resin and adhesives, that type of thing and also what wrap is best to use and where i can get it.

Also i need to know the steps involved from start to finish.

    Any help is Much Appreciated

    Thanks

seems like there are sheets of the stuff you can buy off of ebay...
don't think there's any resin or gunk involved,, just cut place and heat..

I used Neffy Wrap. You can buy a kit that has everything you need to get started.

There are stick on carbon fiber vinyl wraps available around Canada like the 3M di noc wrap which is pretty easy to install that people use on their interiors a lot. If your going for the more realistic route and want to wrap parts yourself with carbon fiber fabric then you would need an adhesive, epoxy resin bonding agent/clear coat and simple sanding paper and polish to do it right. There is also a vacuum bag technique that you can use, just research it. You can also youtube the how to's on carbon fiber install.

Ya i've been looking at the 3M wrap and it looks fairly straight forward to put on. My biggest concern with that is does the wrap need to be put on a surface that is completely smooth because the OEM interior pieces have a bumpy finish to it so will that show through or would i have to sand it before hand?

Won't show through, but the smooth surface adheres much better to wrap..

lol..those guys are newbs..but it looks alright..anyways..i can help u, i do wraps for a living in tdot sauga area.no u dont need adhesives cuz the cf material has glue on it already..if the surface is not smooth u have to sand it..regular vynyl can wrap around curves but not so much the cf material.cf is only good for flat surfaces cuz its thick.so keep that in mind.

all u need is the material, box knife with sharp blade(olfa), torch or heat gun, windex, alchohol, and your fingers..

i was thinking of wrapping my whole car in that stuff but it might end up looking cheesy(cant fake cf)

anyways..shoot me a pm if u need help or have anymore questions..

o yeah, if you dont know were to get that material and you live in gta area, google "TCT" for location.they sell all graphics goods..also try all graphics supply.
