To remove speed limiters. Fit Nistune board inside stock ECU. Plug up laptop + Consult cable to Consult plug under dash on drivers side of car, raise the speed limiters via Nistune tuning software on laptop. Nistune tuner / dealer in Canada could do it for you.
Gearing depends on racetrack. If hp racetrack, taller gearing. If tight racetrack, shorter gearing. R32 GTS-T with manual transmission has short gearing at factory (4.363:1 diffhead ratio), so accelerates quickly. Makes it similar to EVO's, etc with shorter gear ratio's, 300hp or so for rally use. It's probably one of the reasons why a R32 GTS-T is faster in Targa than a R32GTR, R35GTR.
R32GTR with stock 4.11:1 diffhead ratio's in front, rear, can fit R34GTR gearbox to work with HKS 25/30 turbo's with stock capacity engine (shorter gear ratio's). I think Mines R34GTR Vpec N1 has stock R34GTR gearbox with R33 GTR V spec 4.11:1 (I think factory are taller, normally 3.45:1) gear ratio diffhead's in front, rear. It explains why the Mines R34GTR has fast acceleration (short gearing). Mines R34GTR does struggle on hp racetracks, as I think gearing is suited to Tsukuba. They used to change the gearing in R32 GTR Group-A racecars when switching from say Tsukuba to Fuji racetracks.
One of my favourites is Signal R34 GTR reaching 300km/h -
Final gear ratio in gearbox (5th gear) + diffhead ratio + diameter of wheels = top speed. I think R34GTR stock gearbox has shorter ratio's in 1-4??, but taller in 5th, 6th. Mix shorter gear ratio's in gear box with shorter diffhead ratio in diffhead + 18 inch wheels = quick acceleration.
I think Nismo LSD is around 4.10:1 for R32 GTS-T. 4.10:1 seems to work best with 17 inch wheels, as I think is used on GTS-R Group-A racecar.
Gearbox ratio's are matched to engine powerband. If change engine powerband, change gearbox ratio's to suit.
Going 120 on the highway I am usually about 3.1k rpm, hitting the limiter at 180 your around 5.2k rpm.
That is in a gts't.
I wish there was a 6th gear lol.
My rpm's are a lot higher than that. No one knows why though Some kind of aftermarket gearset or something, perhaps :\ My fifth gear is insanely close to fourth, like it's a pure acceleration gear as opposed to an overdrive.
when I first got my vehicle from tyee on the island,,, I decided to wind it out,,, I hit 240 pretty darn quick,,, then I gave my head a shake... I haven't even inspected the car yet...
..got back into town,,, discovered that the fron right tire had a goose egg on the inside wall of it.....

Thats weird, I would like to be around 2.4k rpm on the highway, but going 120 its just not possible :/
And no I dont go 20km/h over the speed limit, the speed limit here in SK is 110, not sure about other provinces.
