from the pics looks like steel wheel exhaust turbine, can you confirm or deny this....?

the compressor housing is 100% the exact same dimension as standard R32 GTR turbos...

    A/R .42 M24 1-2

maybe its upgraded with steel wheel? or could be an N1 right?

what would be the appropriate way to verifiy if the exhaust wheel is ceramic or steel (i think its stainless steel which isn't very magnetic)

Don't believe they use stainless.. But josh is right, that definitely looks like a steel wheel.. A magnet would be sufficient to determine this, as the only other option would be ceramic.. Is that a nylon compressor wheel?

At any rate... the r33 N1's came with steel wheel compressor/exhaust sides and BB from what i remember, could very well be from a 33.

edit; could very well have been a 32 rebuild. Most as you know, 32 turbos blow the exhaust wheel off.. A rebuild kit would prompt the person to use a steel wheel in place.. Are there any paint markings that would show a retorque or any of the sort on rebuild of the exhaust side?

on closer inspection i see more!

the writing stamped into the T25 flange on the exhaust housing... thats not like that on newer garret turbos, but oem turbos did have that i think. I was just thinking to myself, "man i remember when i took my turbos off i was shocked and surprised that the exhaust wheels were NOT black... instead they had an orange tinge to them... thats because they were ceramic" have a look at this photo:

and here ceramic on the right, steel on the left:

thus i conclude that you sir have a turbo with a steel wheel exhaust turbine, inside a completely stock OEM garret housing.
lastly, i think mark is probably correct, some one has rebuilt this turbo and replaced with upgraded steel wheel because theres no paint torque marks... even on mine the marks were still present.

maybe an R32? - R33 and 34 both still had ceramic as the exhaust wheels, only N1 or upgraded versions of the car sold with steel wheel turbines.

p/n doesn't mean anything if the turbo as been rebuild with an SS exhaust wheel and such
