Stupid question but how durable do you think they would be? The lightness is just insane but if they can't handle the crazy driving I don't know if the weight reduction would be worth it. And they probably cost a fortune
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

they're are a REAL rim for sale from weds sport... the price $12,000 USD. I'm sure they hold up just fine on the track but i wonder if they come with a manufacturers warranty lol

I wouldn't either. Holy smokes one wrong move and that's 4 grand down the drain. That is awesome though.

If Weds is offering to the domestic market, you can bet they are strong and will hold up to hard driving. Though one slip up, whether an offtrack excursion or colliding into something solid I can see them coming apart.

I threw an AVS model 5 wheel way off just by running off track into a gravel pit. Visually they looked just fine but the wheel was distorted and would not balance out. Kinda makes you think twice about buying used wheels doesnt it?

bah those carbon rims are old now
They were not actually that strong because they couldnt get them as a 1 piece and the 3 piece rims in carbon had sum slight flex to them. Then a company called Carbon Revolution came out with the first full 1 piece carbon rims for the SSC Ultima Aero cause standard rims were warping at the high speeds of the car.

The problem with carbon is their fatigue life and that it is impossible to see the microscopic failure with the naked eyes.

Carbon has a better fatigue life then steel and aluminum, its also design specific but design for design carbon has higher fatigue limit (it also doesnt go to 0 like aluminum, it also depends the carbon fiber but in general). Microscope surface fatigue cracks on any material is microscopic therefore invisible to naked eye like anything else thats microscopic, heh.
