Well, after seeing her off in October in Japan, my GT-R finally arrived in Toronto today.
So relieved to see there was no shipping damage or anything missing.
Some BIG thanks I'd like to give out:
First and foremost Right Drive Inc. Although I did all the exportation/importation myself, Right Drive helped me out all along the way, answered countless questions I had, and are currently handling the registration for me. All I can say is these guys are top notch, and super friendly as well. They also have 2 awesome mechanics, and one is even Japanese, so he's well versed in GT-Rs.
Thanks Michael for lunch today, it was great to meet all you guys at Right Drive!
ABC Customs Brokers - In one word, amazing. My case was special as I was importing my car as a personal belonging, but these guys figured out the procedures, and even made a personal appearance at customs on my behalf. Amazing communication all the way through the process with daily calls to update the situation. They even prepaid the storage fees at the dock on my behalf, so that my car could be released earlier than expected. I highly recommend these guys if you have any customs brokerage to be done. Again, top notch guys, and more than reasonable pricing.
TFX International - their service is good, but their trucks are what really caught my eye. My car was transported from the dock in Vancouver to Right Drive in Toronto via their fully enclosed trailer. I was cringing at the thought of my car being hauled through the Rockies, Prairies and snowstorms, getting covered in snow and salt on a truck or train. The cost is slightly higher with them, but for the peace of mind it's worth it. These guys are the official transporters of the Ferrari club. If it's good enough for a Ferrari, it's good enough for me!
Steve and the others I met at Right Drive today, great to meet you, and sorry that I couldn't talk much. Getting the car started and that bitter cold was consuming my thoughts. Lets have a little get together someday soon!
