  • Who to buy a clutch from

I am going to buy a OS Giken TS2B multi plate clutch for my r32 gtr...just wondering who may be the best to buy it from and for the most reasonable price...I've bin lookin at purchasing it from www.rhdjapan.com. Anybody have bad experiences with them? Any help with this would help!

judging by these responses, rhdjapan is hit and miss.

figured it would be nice to see this before you make a decision though.

can't say enough about RHD japan. I've never personally heard of anyone having problems with them. They're like the #1 online supplier or something. You don't make it that big by being shady. I got my OS Giken (amongst many other things) from there for a ridiculously cheaper than buying it domestically.

                    Guys,

GTRC discount rate on OS Giken is roughly 20% these days. Little less on the rebuild kits.

Leeaspin, ill PM you right now on the TS2B twin plate clutch.

And for Nismo guys, sometimes in stock with our Tomei USA stock holder of if not, can offer direct from Japan. 15-20% based on certain models.

PM at any time guys. Lots of savings to offer all of you.

My car should make over 600hp when its tuned....is a OS Giken TS2B going to be enough? I know that its rated for 600 but need some opinions..

                        Thanks

the OS TS2 series clutchs are awesome, one just came up for sale right now on gtrc for cheap !!! Phone OS and ask them, I spoke directly to a OS rep in the summer when I was looking for a clutch and he told me all OS clutchs are under rated big time thats why they last. He told me there are guys in Japan running 800whp circuit cars with the twin I have. I talked to a guy in the UK running one on his 600whp daily driver, he is just a normal guy - as in hits a few track days a year as well as a w'end racer and he says he has over 35,000km on it. I cant comment much on the durability since mine has about 1200km on it and they are all easy km's. I did launch my car once to try the 2 step launch control after I got my car tuned at light speed. Im over 500whp and launch control violently helps me off the line at 12psi and 4600rpm and the clutch didnt slip at all. Nothing but 4 wheel spin and me almost sh**ing my pants. Anyways I have the OS but with the largest diameter flywheel that would fit and I love it. ( think mine is the CD ) the C is the diameter.
                          cheers

I've delt with Vex before in regards to OS giken parts (Like my F/R diffs) and they not only would not beat the prices I was getting elsewhere, they didn't believe me lol. I bought the diffs elsewhere for hundreds less. As for the clutch, I used to run an OSG twin and it rattles like mad (AKA chatter). I was happy to replace it with a nismo twin plate which was super quiet and as soft as a stock clutch.

I'd check out a nismo twin They can handle up to 740hp (if you go with the competition clutch).
