  • ARC in Bankruptcy, So long to another great company

ARC Japan, has announced bankruptcy today....
It saddens me personally, they've always been one of my favorites for quality, not price though! lol, anyways, made a little post/tribute about it: http://tinyurl.com/45du5ut

share your fondest memories with of your ARC products....

my ARC intercooler.... the way it channels air so efficiently through the fins, and each tube across is made into a point! to slice through the air and chill the charged air, so that I, may enjoy just a little more power from my car.

Thank you ARC, for being that little extra bit of Awesome in my life.

Pretty soon here, we're going to see more of this simply because many many people care more about price than quality/performance. I don't see HKS doing the same as when they sell something, it's so fracking expensive (with no extras) than they live off those rare sales :P
Black 1991 GTR. Serious garage stand mantle/parts car.
    Black 1990 Pulsar GTiR. Sold
    Silver 1989 GTR. Sold
Black 2010 Subaru WRX. Weekend warrior. Sold.
    Black 2013 F-150 FX4 ecoboost. Daily driver.
White 2012 Ford Explorer Limited. Family wagon.

Sorry for my offensive comments, I r socially retard.

start by having A ROLLING GTR then we talk u ******* mofo funzy little *****
    lol

HKS actually changed their business model recently.

Prices are still high, but they have discontinued many products and reduced prices on many.

Market started to change long time ago and the recent recession ain't helping these ultra high end companies designed for non-exotic sports cars.

ARC did make some ridiculous parts that had a small market niche. Not every joe schmoe is going to pay 800 dollars for dress up parts.

A local parts shop posted this on facebook today.

I'm thankful for my ARC downpipe...it allows my exhaust to flow more freely and go BAAAWWWWW

Although the news doesn't really sadden me, i do think they make some of the sweetest burnt titanium shift knobs, but as many other people have stated the price for those and many other parts is not too desirable.

Keep in mind GReddy had a bankruptcy before and they've adjusted their business to the current market and looks like they're holding on. (I don't know much about their finances)

Bankruptcy doesnt mean they are gone. Bankruptcy is a companys way of saying "hey banks and suppliers, we dont have a lot of cash so instead of paying you, we are gonna spend it remodling the company, is that cool?"

                  That is my understanding

Sad news that's for sure. It must have been tough for them being in a niche market with a somewhat stagnant product line.
Also cheap Chinese knock-offs must be a big factor as well. I wonder what will happen when the Chinese copy companies put all the Japanese companies out of business, then who will they copy?

HKS has been so successful because they constantly are adding new products and new ideas. Some other companies dno't update their product lines leaving them behind.

I don't believe Trust was bought out by anyone, so let's not start incorrect rumours or misconceptions with facts please. There's enough misinformation on the Internet as it is.

I doubt the Government of Japan will bail out ARC, they aren't a car manufacturer. But most likely they will reorganize, restructure and come back again, just like Trust and Apexi did. Hopefully it won't be the last of them!

One interesting statement I saw today, that I thought was so true:
"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of cheap price is forgotten."

Remember to support Japanese parts manufacturers, they are the ones putting in the millions of dollars in research and development. Say no to copy and imitation Chinese parts.

Greddy turbos are still made by Mitsubishi, I believe. Still cost an arm and a leg as well, considering how the tech trust turbos use is ancient.

Damn. I hope Abbey Road Company holds on.
My HCR came with a "Tuned by Abbey Road Company" RB20 timing belt cover. I have never seen another like it and I googled allot.

And it was Garrett that got bought out by Honeywell. I think. lol.
