That is not right, simply just a blow off valve will not sound like that.

i agree with quad, when i first heard it it soudned like turbo flutter/ compressor surge, which could be simply from not having any bov and air going back through the turbine.

I have a Tial 50mm and that's not it , il say with almost %100 certainty that's the dump pipe off the external wastegate, I agree though sounds Absolutly incredible !!! I love my tial with a lose "12lb spring" it's sounds similar But that not but te same. If I end up going bigsingle on this engine il go with Tial WG you can't beat that sound

you can still get that sound if you have a bov hooked up. its just that theres too much pressure and it cant make it out the bov fast enough so there is turbo flutter/ compressor surge aswell

Its not the wastegate doing that. Put a stiffer spring in your tial bov and you'll see it making that sound .

that's the sound of running without a BOV or having a BOV not fully opening.. ALL bov's can sound like that if they're stiff enough.

But thats not the actual blow off valve making that noise, thats your compressor fluttering. It won't matter which bov you have (or none at all), if your bov spring is too tight your compressor will flutter like that. It's mostly the big single turbo supra guys running big psi and their BOV can't keep up.

For the gtr guys with ceramic turbos, always always always run a blow off valve. You don't want your cearmic blades shattering.

I can get a Synapse BOV to do that fluttering sound by disconnecting one of the vacuum ports on back of BOV (did it as a experiment to see if it increases response of BOV, but it didn't). The flutter sound comes from podfilter.

My cars modified stock BOV would do it at low boost levels only. Why it did this, as blocked of the quick release part of stock BOV (small hole next to main valve, drilled hole in side of BOV where that little hole is to vent any air that builds up in the top of BOV). The small hole next to main hole allows air to top of BOV which helps BOV to open at lower boost levels, but can cause it to leak at higher boost levels (above around 10psi on GTS BOV). Synapse BOV has the same port, port C, but is a pull type BOV, not push type BOV like stock BOV.

I like the Synapse BOV, as it transformed my car in the way it drives. I could slow down for traffic (on boost gauge it's just below 0 and BOV goes off when backing off throttle). Then traffic starts moving again and get back on throttle. The result is it can be on the back of the car in front like a NA engine (feels like more hp, torque at lower rpm). There's virtually no lag. That's using hardly any throttle. With modified stock BOV you would feel some lag, then it moved. Basically I think I felt a increase in transient reponse, hp, torque with Synapse BOV.
